Day 42 – North Dakota and Minnesota (by Abby)
Events of Friday, August 6, 2010
This strange day began with a voice saying, “GOOD MORNING, VIETNAM!” This woke us kids up, ready for a day of driving, but thoroughly confused. (Later, our parents explained to us that there was a movie called “Good Morning, Vietnam” with Robin Williams in it. We’re still sort of confused, but we got the gist.) We had breakfast at a rest stop and began our 500 mile drive from Bismarck, ND to our KOA campground in Maple Grove. We listened to music, read, and did some stuff on the computer. We stopped at the most improved rest stop in Minnesota for lunch (BAGELS‼) and then got on the road again. At about 5, we arrived at our campground and got settled. Finally, we had our Mark manuscript study and then had a delicious dinner of leftover tacos. After dinner we went swimming and Dad and Ben played shuffleboard. At last we went to bed after a long and tiring day of driving.
