Day 25 Colorado (by Caitlin)
The Events of Tuesday, July 20, 2010
We woke up peacefully and had a delicious breakfast of cereal, California blueberries (in Colorado!) and farm-fresh milk. Daddy left early to take the RV to be looked at, something regarding a propane tank and the generator…I don’t really get it. We took turns entertaining the Kenigsbergs’ youngest, Timothy who is three years old. He has a lot of energy and loves to read books that rhyme (Dr. Seuss books are his favorite). Then Abby and Ben played hockey with Ryan, Matthew, and Nathan in the street while the rest of us caught up on journaling and laundrying. We tried the Kenigsbergs’ AMAZING ‘jugo de sandia’ (watermelon juice). Then we had lunch – an amazing fruit salad and fresh bagels with cream cheese. For dessert we had root beer milk and ice cream, which tasted kind of like a slightly melted root beer float.
Then we played Taboo and Pictionary, and Lindsey painted her nails, and then my nails, and then Abby’s nails. Next, Lindsey, Cristina, Abby, Timothy, Junior (their dog) and I decided that some exercise was necessary, so we sauntered slowly over to the neighborhood pond, where Cristina took pictures of us under the willow tree as it rained, and then elsewhere once it stopped raining. When we got back, we were just in time for a delicious dinner of steak, green potatoes, mandarin-orange green salad and baked potatoes and a traditional Kenigsberg-Taylor dessert of S’mores, and we had a special dinner guest, Ms. Diane Woodcock, our preschool Sunday school teacher from way back at Bethel, when we used to live in San Francisco. This was a welcome surprise for us kids. After dinner, we played Sardines and Taboo and Skyped for the first time with Grandma. ‘Twas fun. It was a lovely and fun day with the Kenigsbergs, and I will definitely be sad to leave them so soon.
