Residenza Angelico Shower, Roma, Italia

March 20, 2011

At First Glance: We were surprised to find only half of the shower covered by a clear shower door which opens outward from the shower. It’s a shower/bathtub combination, with a very small bathtub. The corners of the bathtub are the only surface for standing shampoo and conditioner bottles.

Shower Power: Power’s not exactly how I’d put it!

Hot or Not?: Relatively hot, but we had to do military showers, and be wary of our tiny water heater and shower in organized shifts, so as not to overwork the water heater.

What Made it Nice: We got clean…somewhat. And linens were provided, six sets of three different sizes of white towels, which kind of made the apartment feel like a hotel room.

What Made it Not-So-Nice: Ben and Daddy can’t even fit their feet across the bottom of the bathtub. They have to stand sideways and rinse one side of their body before turning around and rinsing the other side.

Cerqua Rosara Residence Shower, Valtopina, Umbria, Italy

March 15, 2011

At First Glance: Chrystal-clear siding gave view to a sparkling-clean white shower. The entrance is guarded by two curved doors on a track and pulled apart to allow the showerer entry. It’s odd, but neat, and reminds us in a way of our own home’s sliding glass door leading to the backyard.

Shower Power: Wonderful! Reminded us of home, which of course was my favorite shower. A steady stream of serenity.

Hot or Not?: Plenty hot, although we take military showers (turn on when under, turn ...

Venezia Villa Shower, Venice, Italy

March 11, 2011

At First Glance: Yellow, white, and green ceramic tiles on walls and floor of shower coordinate perfectly with yellow and green flowery shower curtain.

Shower Power: Decent. Not amazing.

Hot or Not?: Again, decent. We have to be careful of emptying our water heater. It is a strange shower, because the showerer first sets the temperature in degrees Celcius with the dial, and then turns on the water flow, which comes out hot from the very beginning.

What Made it Nice: Interesting tilework ...

Hotel La Bellevue Showers, Annecy, France

March 11, 2011

At First Glance: Nice, clean, white, somewhat roomy, odd-looking, but functional

Shower Power: Pretty good!

Hot or Not?: Plenty hot!

What Made it Nice: Complete cleanliness. The bright whiteness of it all was evidence of this!

What Made it Not-So-Nice: No hooks or shower caddies to put the stuff. Just the floor and faucets.

The Taylors’ House’s Showers, Elk Grove, CA

March 2, 2011

At First Glance: So clean and so spacious! The Herscowitzes did a great job keeping our house spotless while we were gone! The kids’ bathroom has never looked cleaner!

Shower Power: Blissful! Perfect in every way. Exactly the wondrous stream I desire in campground showers!

Hot or Not?: Plenty hot for all of our showers, no matter the length, or the dishwasher running or the number of baths Mom takes.

What Made it Nice: Being in my own shower!

What Made it Not-So-Nice: My rating system...

Las Vegas KOA Showers, Las Vegas, NV

February 26, 2011

At First Glance: Clean and relatively spacious. No decoration , though, so a little boring appearance-wise.

Shower Power: Kind of wimpy, and the shower head was low

Hot or Not?: Plenty hot, but we had to take turns.

What Made it Nice: Plentiful changing space, numerous hooks, the whole place to ourselves.

What Made it Not-So-Nice: Odd set-up, no way to keep the water away from our changing space, so hard to stay dry.

Overall Rating: 7 out of 10

Flagstaff KOA Showers, Flagstaff, AZ

February 26, 2011

At First Glance: Clean, spacious, and a beautiful mural of the outdoors on the back wall.

Shower Power: Purty good!

Hot or Not?: Plenty hot, but we had to take turns.

What Made it Nice: Plentiful changing space, numerous hooks, the whole place to ourselves. And a dri-dec mat right outside the shower to keep us off of the puddles on the floor, along with a four-by-four tile ledge to keep the water and shower curtain inside the shower.

What Made it Not-So-Nice: A little low on the showerh...

Town & Country RV Park Showers, Roswell, NM

February 23, 2011

At First Glance: Very nice. Spacious, extraordinarily clean, and an abundance of hooks everywhere.

Shower Power: Perfect. Not too powerful, and not too pathetic.

Hot or Not?: Perfectly hot the whole shower long. However, it was good that we showered in shifts, because the boys, who showered later, had a bit of cold water at the end of their showers.

What Made it Nice: So many hooks! And a big long shelf the whole shower-length long. A long bench outside of the showers, as well as shorter...

BJ's RV Park Showers, Terlingua, TX

February 23, 2011

At First Glance: Very odd set-up. The walls of the bathroom were paneled wood, like in the condo at Tahoe. There was a sink, a toilet, a huge trash can, and a tiny shower at the very back of the room. The place was filthy. There was green stuff all around the sink, and dust and dirt piled high behind the toilet. The shower itself was decent, but still not pleasantly clean.

Shower Power: Pretty pathetic.

Hot or Not?: Sketchy. Sometimes hot and sometimes cold.

What Made it Nice: The chance...

Rio Grande Village RV Park Showers, Big Bend National Park, TX

February 23, 2011

At First Glance: Decent. Clean, spacious, functional. Nothing special at all. One bench for all three showers. Each shower is $1.50 for five minutes. The showerhead protrudes from a metal box and the only other thing in the shower is a metal shelf in the corner, big enough for all shower necessities.

Shower Power: Shall we say an extreme stream? Very hard. Too hard. Almost pushed us over. And the showerhead was too low.

Hot or Not?: Plenty hot the whole shower long.

What Made it Nice: We...
