Howard Miller Steelhead Park Showers

July 14, 2010

We chose not to shower in these showers because they cost $1.00 for four minutes. Also, they were fairly small and there were only two shower stalls. And – believe it or not – there were NO knobs with which to change the temperature of the water.

Harvey Aardvark (Our RV’s nickname) Shower

July 14, 2010

At First Glance: White. Ordinary. Small. Short.

Shower Power: Weak. So weak that it required us to rinse our hair with pitchers of hot water from the kitchen sink.

Hot or Not?: Both. Flashed constantly between the two, and I hear the last 2 ½ showers were very chilly.

What Made It Nice: The chance to still get clean. Refreshed feeling afterward. After not showering for almost two days (both days we slathered ourselves with sunscreen and mosquito repellant), any kind of shower was welc...

Van Bergeyks Family’s House’s Showers

July 7, 2010

At First Glance: Well decorated to fit the jungle theme. Palm trees, giraffes, zebras painted on walls.

Shower Power: AMAZING! Even though I woke up feeling like I didn’t need a shower, I’m glad I did, because it felt SO good.

Hot or Not?: Hot – perfect temperature.

What Made It Nice: Showering in a house; powerful flow of aqua, warmth and lovely decorations.

What Made It Not-So-Nice: Pretty much nothing! Lindsey got slightly scorched at the end of her shower, but only because she...

Grandma’s House’s Showers

July 6, 2010

At First Glance: Wonderful. Beautifully decorated, spacious, fully stocked.

Shower Power: Great. Alternate settings; powerful or drippy, whatever you want.

Hot or Not?: Perfect temperature. Flexible and lovely.

What Made It Nice: Showering in a house again. Even just a week in RV makes us miss life in a house. And Grandma’s jet bathtub was amazing‼ Thanks Grandma!

What Made It Not-So-Nice: Nothing! This shower was awesome!

Overall Rating: 10 out of 10

Hi-Way Haven RV Park Showers

July 6, 2010

At First Glance: Sunny yellow tiles, spacious stalls, showers look thoroughly cleaned.

Shower Power: Not too weak.

Hot or Not?: Hot! But sometimes borderline scorching.

What Made It Nice: The spaciousness and cheery colors. And my 6’4” father fit under the showerhead!! He measured the showerheads to be 6’7” tall – quite accommodating for the tall people. Also, free of charge.

What Made It Not-So-Nice: Water went everywhere in the stalls. Even though there were hooks and shelve...

Mazama Campground Showers

July 6, 2010

We did not visit these showers because the mosquitoes were so large in number, and there was snow (in July!), mud, and slush on the ground, and it was not worth the journey there for 75 cents for a four-minute shower.

Valley of the Rogue State Park Showers

July 6, 2010

At First Glance: Boring, green and gray walls. Wooden stools, wooden benches. Convenient hooks. No-nonsense atmosphere. Like what one would expect in the military.
Shower Power: Powerful water flow. Pressure strong - sometimes too strong.
Hot Or Not?: Hot. Slowly got hotter and hotter as the shower progressed - not great, but not horrible.
What Made It Nice: This shower felt SO good. All of us very much enjoyed this shower, hypnotized by the feeling of water pounding heavily down onto us.

Abram Lake RV Campground Showers

July 6, 2010

At First Glance: Cute, clean, and quite quaint...as showers go.
Shower Power: Water flow very weak
Hot Or Not?: Flashed from frigid to scorching within seconds. One of the two shower stalls in the women's showers produced ONLY frigid water.
What Made It Nice: Huge basket of lotions, shampoos, soaps, and such. Counter and floor clean and dry. Convenient hooks and rods everywhere on which to hang our clothes, bags, and towels. Adorable blue and green polka-dotted shower curtains. Also, free of cha...
