Absaroka Bay Campground Showers

July 26, 2010

At First Glance: Gross. Old-fashioned-looking; you could see the pipes through which your water came

Shower Power: Decent.

Hot or Not?: Hot, most of the time. Switched often from hot to cold and back again, but tried hard to maintain constant temperature. Hard to figure out how to turn on and get the right temperature water

What Made It Nice: Tall enough for the tallest of us; water went directly into drain so that it wasn’t a gigantic puddle

What Made It Not-So-Nice: Dirty concrete floor, switched temperatures. Only two hooks and a small wobbly bench. Shower curtains instead of doors

Overall Rating: 6 out of 10

Big Pine Campground Showers, Custer, South Dakota

July 25, 2010

At First Glance: Spacious, white and clean

Shower Power: pathetic. Got stronger as shower continued and other shower turned off

Hot or Not?: Hot, but only when faucet turned all the way left instead of right…weird, I know.

What Made It Nice: Four double hooks and a plastic chair right outside in the “changing area”, lots of spacious space, showerhead not painfully low for the tallest of us.

What Made It Not-So-Nice: The amount of water. We might as well have showered in the RV

Sleepy Hollow RV Park Showers, Wall, South Dakota

July 25, 2010

At First Glance: Clean, colorful, numerous

Shower Power: decent. Would have liked more, but such is life

Hot or Not?: Hot enough for me

What Made It Nice: They had a lot of water

What Made It Not-So-Nice: the color code on the temperature adjuster was totally off.

Kenigsberg Family House Showers, Greeley, CO

July 20, 2010

At First Glance: Wow. Sooooooooooo spacious!

Shower Power: Perfect! Not too hard (if there is such a thing), and not too soft.

Hot or Not?: Perfect temperature the whole shower through, even after five other showers

What Made It Nice: Clean, private, spacious, quiet, everything!

What Made It Not-So-Nice: Nothing was wrong with this shower. I want to pull it out of the walls and take it with me!!

Overall Rating: 10 out of 10

Red Mountain RV Park Showers, Kremmling, CO

July 20, 2010

At First Glance: cute rustic wooden cabin appearance. Stall doors were like the doors of horses’ stalls – wooden and short.

Shower Power: one shower very weak, the other moderate.

Hot or Not?: Hot if you wanted it to drip weakly; cold if you wanted a decent flow

What Made It Nice: We could hang stuff over the shorter doors.

What Made It Not-So-Nice: Hotter water meant a weaker flow, so to get any decent flow, it had to be freezing cold. Also, little door didn’t provide much privac...

Salt Lake City KOA Showers, Salt Lake City, UT

July 20, 2010

At First Glance: Small in size and number

Shower Power: Good enough, but I would have liked it harder

Hot or Not?: A very fine line between burning hot and freezing cold. An accidental bump of the faucet sent us jumping away from the water, surprised and slightly scorched.

What Made It Nice: Shower curtain and shower door (actually more like the door of a bathroom stall, but it worked) kept water where it needs to be.

What Made It Not-So-Nice: Sound echoed everywhere. Limited space in s...

Hagerman RV Park Showers, Hagerman, ID

July 20, 2010

At First Glance: Cute decorations on shower curtains! Adorned with shells, fish, and other sea-related items

Shower Power: Not horrible. Two faucets, one an immobile shower head, the other a showerhead that you could take off and move around, like what some people have in their sinks. I liked the one you could move at will better than the one attached to the wall.

Hot or Not?: Hot enough.

What Made It Nice: Both shower curtain and shower door helped maintain privacy and dryness of clothin...

Elk Mountain RV Resort Showers

July 14, 2010

At First Glance: Cute rustic log cabin theme. Clean.

Shower Power: Not enough power, but a lot better than the showerhead in the RV

Hot or Not?: Mostly hot! except for the fact that you had to turn it right to get hot water instead of turning it left.

What Made It Nice: Curtains separating shower area from changing area, more curtains separating changing area from the rest of the bathroom. We’ve learned not to take privacy for granted. It’s now a blessing. Six-foot high showers fit Be...

The Kennedy’s Shower

July 14, 2010

At First Glance: White. Clean. Comfortable. (The master bathroom’s shower even had a place to  sit down on.)

Shower Power: Mighty. Or weak.  Alternate settings available.

Hot or Not?: Warm. Stayed hot for all six showers!

What Made It Nice: Showering in a house all to ourselves. Also the cleanliness of the whole shower.

What Made It Not-So-Nice: Not that this made the shower less enjoyable, but the water smelled like rotten eggs.

Overall Rating: 10 out of 10

The Jannsen Family’s House’s Shower

July 14, 2010

At First Glance: Wonderful. Decorated nicely. Well-stocked.

Shower Power: Powerful! Felt great.

Hot or Not?: Hot. And it stayed hot, too!

What Made It Nice: Showering in a house yet again. Also the pretty tiles and cleanliness of the whole shower. And even Daddy fit!

What Made It Not-So-Nice: Zero. Nada. Zilch. Nothing.

Overall Rating: 10 out of 10...
